Post 29 Veterans Day 2021

The City of Marietta parade for Veterans Day will be held Thursday November 11th. The post will participate. To ride on the float, contact the Commander of your respective unit (Legion, Auxiliary, SAL, ALR). Please arrive at the post by 0800 Thursday morning. THERE IS A CHANCE OF RAIN. THE CITY OF MARIETTA WILL MAKE A CALL ON THE PARADE SOMETIME WEDNESDAY.

Following the parade, the post will serve a free lunch to our members. (The meal will be served even if the parade is cancelled.) Plan to be in the main hall upstairs around 1PM to eat (parade riders eat first). The SAL is preparing a great meal for our veterans, and Social Quarters staff will be happy to serve you on this special day. Be sure to thank them.

I am the Executive Assistant to the General Raymond G. Davis Korean War Veterans Association of Atlanta. We are looking for Korean War Veterans who would be interested in joining our Chapter. We meet 6 times each year — every other month — for lunch and fellowship. We have guest speakers and great entertainment at our luncheons.

If you have anyone who would be interested in joining our group, please have them contact Stratton Frank at stratisy@bellsouth.net or Judy Fincher at jcf4037@bellsouth.net.

We hope to hear from you soon !

Cemetery Care 10.9.2021

Good morning, ALL!

It looks like we may be hosting the FINAL mow of the season this coming Saturday.  Please mark your calendars and let’s pray for good weather!

If anyone is able and willing to attend, we would definitely appreciate the help.  As always, muster will be 0800-ish and we’ll hope to be out of there as quickly as possible.

Again, a special thanks to last month’s volunteers pictured below.

We would like to invite any and all available to help us clean up, mow, weed-wack, hedge trim, blow, and rake our Post adopted Cemetery.  As appropriately stated by Bill, “We owe it to The Veterans interned there to make sure families can visit their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice!”

If anybody can make it, please contact Jeff Garland (Garland, Jeff Jeff.Garland@amerisbank.com) so that we can get an accurate count as to who may or may not be able to assist.  We surely would appreciate the help.

Shiloh Cemetery is located at the intersection of Barrett Pkwy and Dallas Hwy.  SEE BELOW

This should get you there.  The cemetery is behind the Subway/Dunkin Donuts on Dallas Highway, right at the corner of Hwy 120 and Barrett Pkwy.  The gate to the cemetery is between the Shell Station on the corner and the Subway which is in the strip center right next door.
