The Vietnam War Veteran’s Day is being celebrated this March 25th at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery. Myron Hall, Chairman has invited all veterans to attend.

Vietnam War Veterans Day Observance

The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act designates every March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. The Vietnam War Commemoration honors all U.S. Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time from November1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location. Georgia National Cemetery will present an observance on Saturday, March 25, 2023. A ceremony will be held at 11:00 am. This year’s ceremony will honor the life and service of U.S. Army SSGT Howard E. Williams, Jr… SSGT Williams was Killed-In-Action in Vietnam December 7, 1969. SSGT Williams is interred at Georgia National Cemetery. The family of SSGT Williams has graciously accepted an invitation to be guests of honor. In addition, we will have present, six Vietnam Veterans who will also be honored for their service. Commemorative pins will be provided to all Vietnam Veterans. Please plan to attend to honor those Veterans that served our country during the Vietnam War.
SAL is having a Boston Butt Sale throughout the month of March with pickup on April 1st at the post. All sales are a presale. Signup sheet will be in the Social Quarters. The cost is $50 for the Boston Butt and 1 quart of Brunswick Stew. All proceeds go to the Dan Pipher Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Chapter 29 American Legion Riders will draw for the winner of the “Wagon of Cheer” Friday, March 17, 2023 ( St. Paddy’s Day ) at the first intermission of the Band N2U. The winner need not be present to win! Proceeds from this raffle will go to Wreaths Across America, The Legacy Scholarship fund, Boys & Girls State.
